Getting Started

Hello again my Friends and random passersby!

I'm back to give you a talking to about possibly the hardest thing to do in our modern day...
Getting started.

Whew! Now that I did that, I just have the easy part left ;)

Ever heard of the phrase "yesterday, you said tomorrow, so just do it!". You probably have if you interneted much in 2017. Even though the whole thing was silly, Shia LaBeouf had some good points in that section of his video.

The thing that makes beginning is hard for us, is a mental block. It can be scary to start something, because with that comes the possibility of failure. That word, failure, used to scare me so much... But, the thing is, that failure is not something to be afraid of! I know that that goes against all of your thought processes through school, but it is true.

I saw a thing on the internet the other day, that said something to the effect of this: The difference between a master, and a novice, is that the master has failed more times then the novice has tried.
Failure, is not a bad thing in life when working towards a goal, because it is a necessary part of the journey. A wonderful path awaits you, if you are willing to take those first steps, and accept that failure is a way of life, and a tool to learn.

I know I'm not old, but I have been teaching myself art and design for over three years now, and I can say that 90% of the drawings I have started to draw, have had multiple failures before I get a finished piece that I am happy with. So, trust me when I say, that getting started gets easier ever time you do it, and that getting to the goal you set, is a wonderful journey, and a satisfying end.

If you have something you have been wanting to learn, or do, JUST DO IT! :)
Get started, and when you "fail" get up, brush your self off, and charge back in to life.
This is what it means to be alive, and this is what it means to live.

Thank you for peeking at this, and have a great year in 2018
