Games, Art, and Mind Bit (Gambit) #1 - Star Citizen

Okay, I'm going to start my first G.A.M.Bit post with a game that is close to my heart, and may  possibly become one of the best MMO games of all time ( If it ever gets finished ).

Star Citizen.

Not only is the art in this game fantastic, and the designs beautiful from concept to completion, but the game play itself already feels amazing!

To look at the designs and art in this game, the creators and artists have done an amazing job making all the different items feel like they belong together, but at the same time making them feel as if they were built by different groups of people.

The amount of passion the team has for this project is just amazing, and you can really see that come through in every detail the add to this world. Like a potter, molding the piece, slowly building up the shape to create a pleasing and functional shape. meticulously shifting his hands to the next section, and then when he is done creating the structure, going on to paint it, and taking care in every brushstroke.

Lets take a look at on of the designs from the game, the Caterpillar. The shape and functionality of this ship alone, have been changing and evolving for quite some time. The asymmetrical shape, while quickly identifiable from a distance, feels like it belongs in the same universe as one of their classier ships like the Avenger.

The more angled design on this ship, and its larger center mass, gives this ship a heavier feel, that helps us identify it as primarily being a cargo ship. You can feel the weight of the ship while it is simply sitting in a static position.

This game is a long project for many of the people that have been a part of it. Even though we may get a little impatient about the game, remember that the ones that  are pouring their time and energy into this game want this to be a good thing, and they would love to see it finished as well. We should try to be encouraging to this wonderful team, and look for all the wonderful work they are getting done on this game.

To finish, I actually would like to take a note from that last statement to say, that no mater who it is, when we see someone that has been working towards an end goal, we should take time to see the achievement they have done, and give a word of encouragement. The best thing we can do for someone sometimes is just to say, you're doing a good job, I see the effort you are putting into this, keep it up and you will make a difference.

As always friends, let's art the crap out of life!!
